CNC Milling Operator – Aerospace

Location: Barkhamsted, CT | Schedule: Full-time, on-site (Day Shift 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM or Night Shift 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM)
Overview
An established aerospace manufacturer is seeking an experienced CNC Milling Operator to join its precision machining team. This role is ideal for a skilled machinist who thrives in a stable, high-quality manufacturing environment and takes pride in producing components that meet strict aerospace standards.
What you'll do
- Operate CNC milling machines to manufacture precision aerospace components
- Operate vertical and horizontal CNC machining centers
- Run 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis CNC milling machines
- Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions
- Verify parts meet customer specifications and quality standards
- Monitor machine performance and report any issues to supervisors
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
- Follow all company safety policies and quality procedures
Required qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of CNC milling operator experience
- Experience operating vertical CNC mills
- Experience operating horizontal CNC mills
- Experience with 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis machining centers
- Proficient with precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, swing gauges, calipers, and other inspection equipment
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Reliable, dependable, and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements
- Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment
Preferred qualifications
- Aerospace manufacturing experience is highly preferred
