Overview
A highly regarded hospital known for exceptional patient care is seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist to join its Radiation Oncology department. This role offers the chance to deliver critical cancer treatment services within a collaborative, quality-focused healthcare team in a beautiful rural setting close to a major city.
What you'll do
- Accurately administer photon and electron radiation and assist in brachytherapy procedures under the direction of the radiation oncologist, in accordance with department policies
- Perform simulations, construct shielding blocks, and accurately document duties performed
- Participate in various quality assurance activities
- Administer radiation therapy treatments in accordance with prescriptions and instructions from the radiation oncologist
- Use proper documentation to verify patient treatment and ensure orders are followed through
- Participate in the assessment of patient needs
- Effectively and safely operate all imaging, therapeutic, and related medical equipment
- Prioritize work to complete assigned tasks in a timely manner
- Provide education and information to patients and their families
- Demonstrate willingness to cross-train in other areas to enhance operational effectiveness and efficiency
Required qualifications
- Completion of an AMA accredited Radiation Therapy Program
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiation Therapy (RTT)
- Licensed in the State of Ohio in Radiation Therapy (LRTT)
- At least 2 years of Radiation Therapy experience required
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with TrueBeam, Trilogy, and Aria strongly preferred
Compensation and benefits
- $74K-$99K depending on experience
