Overview
A long-established, stable precision manufacturer in the Menomonee Falls area is experiencing significant growth and is hiring a Multi-Spindle Machine Operator to join its machining operations. This role is suited to someone with hands-on experience setting up, adjusting, and operating multi-spindle lathes and automatic screw machines used to produce precision components from metal bar stock. Machinists who understand how these machines work and can diagnose issues when they arise will find this experience particularly valuable.
What you'll do
- Set up and operate multi-spindle automatic machining equipment
- Read blueprints and work to dimensions, tolerances, and tooling specifications
- Install and adjust collets, bushings, stock pushers, cams, gears, stops, and cutting tools
- Establish and adjust speeds, feeds, tooling positions, and machine timing
- Inspect first pieces and production parts using micrometers, calipers, height stands, comparators, and other inspection equipment
- Troubleshoot machine, tooling, programming, and material issues
- Change and maintain tooling and perform preventive maintenance
- Produce quality precision metal components in a busy production environment
Required qualifications
- Hands-on experience setting up, adjusting, and operating multi-spindle lathes / automatic screw machines
- Ability to read blueprints and work to precise dimensions, tolerances, and tooling specifications
- Ability to use micrometers, calipers, height stands, comparators, and other inspection equipment
- Ability to troubleshoot machine, tooling, programming, and material issues
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with Acme-Gridley, New Britain, Euro-Turn/ZMC, or similar bar-stock machining equipment
- Background in screw machines, multi-spindles, CNC, or related machining equipment
