Finance Manager – hybrid role

Overview
A recently established U.S. headquarters for an international company in expansion mode is seeking a Manager of Accounting & Finance to lead accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance. Reporting to a Group Finance Director based overseas in Europe, this role is a critical leadership function driving accurate month-end close, cash flow forecasting, and strategic financial planning, while partnering cross-functionally with operations, engineering, and executive leadership on project performance, capital expenditures, and business results.
What you'll do
- Lead and manage the monthly close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
- Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
- Oversee Blackline reconciliations and system uploads
- Produce monthly financial statements and reporting packages with narrative analysis
- Present financial results to leadership and participate in monthly review meetings
- Own the 13-week cash flow forecast and ongoing liquidity analysis
- Support monthly rolling forecasts and budget updates
- Analyze variances between actuals, forecast, and budget
- Provide actionable financial insights and recommendations
- Ensure compliance with tax and regulatory requirements
- Oversee preparation and filing of returns and reports
- Manage relationships with external advisors and auditors
- Partner with engineering and operations to track CAPEX and project budgets
- Monitor project costs and timelines
- Manage asset capitalization processes
- Identify and implement process improvements
- Drive automation and efficiency in financial systems
- Provide oversight and guidance to accounting staff
- Serve as a key finance partner to operations and leadership
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 8–12+ years of experience in accounting/finance
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
- ERP and financial systems experience with tools such as D365
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities
Preferred qualifications
- CPA preferred
- MBA a plus
- Power BI a plus
- Experience with tax credits and incentives
- Project or capital accounting experience
- Multi-entity or international exposure
