Location: Elmira, NY | Schedule: Full Time, school-based and outpatient settings | Compensation: $70,990.40 – $87,360 annually

Overview

A stable healthcare organization is seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist for a unique Full Time role that blends school-based and outpatient clinical practice in the Elmira, NY area. This position offers exposure to a diverse patient population and the chance to shape the balance of your caseload over time.

What you'll do

• Evaluate patients and students and develop individualized occupational therapy treatment plans
• Provide occupational therapy services in both school-based and outpatient settings
• Work with pediatric and adult populations
• Assess needs related to activities of daily living, positioning, mobility, adaptive equipment, splinting and assistive devices
• Develop measurable treatment goals and monitor patient progress
• Fabricate or recommend orthotic, splinting and adaptive devices when appropriate
• Complete evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes and other required documentation
• Collaborate with physicians, educators, families, caregivers and interdisciplinary treatment teams
• Educate patients, families and caregivers regarding treatment plans, home programs and adaptive strategies
• Assist in the development and improvement of occupational therapy programs and services

Required qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program
• Licensed or eligible for licensure as an Occupational Therapist in New York State
• Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire

Preferred qualifications

• Experience working with pediatric patients or in a school-based setting is preferred
• Outpatient, hospital or other clinical OT experience is also beneficial
