Location: East Troy, WI (Big Bend, WI area) | Schedule: Full-time, on-site, 2nd shift, Monday – Thursday, 3:00 PM – 1:30 AM (4-day work week) | Compensation: Up to $33.00/hr baseline, plus 2nd Shift Differential

Overview

A rapidly growing, high-tech precision manufacturer supplying the aerospace, defense, and medical industries is seeking a CNC Setup Machinist for a direct-hire, 2nd shift role in a state-of-the-art, climate-controlled precision shop. This position offers a fixed 4-day schedule with guaranteed 3-day weekends and the chance to take ownership of setting up complex multi-axis CNC cells producing high-precision components.

What you'll do

• Execute complete, independent machine setups and operations on multi-axis CNC mills and turning centers
• Adjust tool page offsets, establish work holding fixtures, and replace cutting tooling to maintain tight production tolerances
• Inspect close-tolerance components using micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, height gauges, and custom precision tooling
• Interpret complex engineering blueprints, apply G&M code adjustments, and utilize GD&T principles to ensure full part integrity
• Investigate and resolve mechanical or program-related deviations on 2nd shift to optimize cycle times and maintain smooth production flow
• Maintain a clean, meticulously organized, safe, and 5S-compliant machining station

Required qualifications

• 2+ years of professional CNC machining experience with at least 1 year of independent setups on CNC mills or lathes
• Demonstrated fluency reading blueprints, interpreting G&M codes, and applying GD&T fundamentals
• Proficient with precision hand measurement tools, custom gauges, and inspection equipment to verify close-tolerance part features
• Absolute readiness for a permanent 2nd shift schedule (Monday – Thursday, 3:00 PM – 1:30 AM)
• U.S. Citizenship or Green Card holder residing within daily driving distance of the Big Bend, WI area

Preferred qualifications

• Prior experience machining tight-tolerance components for aerospace, defense, military, or medical device sectors
• Setup capability on 4-axis or 5-axis milling centers, or live-tooling, multi-spindle turning equipment
• Technical diploma, CNC machining certificate, or formal apprenticeship completion
