Overview
An established surgical practice in the Finger Lakes region is seeking a Physician Assistant to join its surgical team. This role blends hands-on operating room work as a First Assist with ongoing patient care across the surgical continuum, offering a unique opportunity to work closely with a Chief of Surgery and specialty surgeons in vascular and oncology care.
What you'll do
- Act as First Assist in the operating room
- Support pre-operative evaluations and post-operative follow-up care
- Participate in clinic responsibilities and patient management
- Assist with inpatient rounding as needed
- Coordinate communication with referring and primary care providers to ensure seamless continuity of care
Required qualifications
- Current New York State Physician Assistant license
- National Certification (NCCPA)
- Valid DEA license
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- Strong clinical assessment and communication skills
- Confidence working in both surgical and clinical environments
