Overview

A respected community hospital is seeking a full-time Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) with urology experience to join its hospital-owned urology practice. This role offers an independent patient panel, strong physician collaboration, and an excellent work-life balance.

What you'll do

  • Provide comprehensive outpatient urology care
  • Conduct detailed histories and physical examinations
  • Evaluate and manage acute and chronic urologic conditions
  • Order and interpret diagnostic studies (labs, imaging, etc.)
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians
  • Provide patient education and counseling
  • Participate in first-call coverage as appropriate
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation
  • Contribute to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Required qualifications

  • For Nurse Practitioners: Master’s degree in Nursing, national certification through ANCC or equivalent, and registration with the Vermont State Board of Nursing
  • For Physician Assistants: graduate of an AMA-approved Physician Assistant program, NCCPA certification, and registration with the Vermont State Board of Medical Practice
  • Minimum 2 years of NP or PA experience in urology required
  • Vermont licensure (or ability to obtain)
  • Unit-specific certifications as required (ACLS, TNCC, PALS, ENPC as applicable)
  • Completion of patient/visitor de-escalation and restraint certification per department guidelines
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating within a team-based model
