Overview

Our client is an established, multinational manufacturer of agricultural equipment with a long operating history and thousands of employees across its operations. The company is seeking a Warehouse Manager to lead the operation of its headquarters warehouses, directing the receiving, storage, and distribution of raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods. This is a key role in ensuring safe, timely, and cost-effective warehouse output at a facility with production orders booked out for a year.

What you'll do

• Supervise a team of 10 warehouse associates in the effective operation of the warehouses
• Develop, maintain, and continuously improve supply chain strategies and performance goals consistent with corporate objectives
• Develop and implement long- and short-range strategies and operating methods to achieve objectives, updating and evaluating weekly KPIs
• Be accountable for all controlled inventory and finished goods shipping and warehouse duties
• Ensure accountability for quality assurance, inventory accuracy, and timely transactions for inbound and outbound products, working closely with the Quality Assurance team to resolve quality issues before shipping
• Control inventory accuracy through physical cycle counts, reconciling with the data storage system, and determine root causes of inventory inaccuracies to expedite corrective action
• Ensure shipping and warehousing facilities operate in accordance with all local, state, and federal regulations
• Oversee equipment requirements and maintenance programs for shipping and warehousing operations (including large/small forklifts, cranes, etc.) and develop proposals for capital expenditures and expense budgets
• Oversee the safe operation of a large, specialty forklift for special project requests outside of the shipping function
• Meet all periodic shipping volume objectives and immediately report exceptions
• Ensure that all products received or shipped meet company quality standards for packaging and completeness
• Serve as the go-to expert on the warehouse management system and shipping processes, along with supporting computer programs, and perform daily validations within these programs

Required qualifications

• Solid warehouse operations experience within a manufacturing operation
• At least 2 years of prior warehouse leadership experience
• Knowledge of a warehouse management system (the organization will be transitioning to SAP within a couple of years)
• Good leadership and communication skills

Preferred qualifications

• Relevant academic experience is a plus, though hands-on work experience is considered paramount
