Location: Troy, Michigan | Schedule: Full-time, Hybrid model available after onboarding | Compensation: $150k-170k base plus performance bonus

Overview

A well-established public accounting firm serving clients across a broad range of industries is seeking a Tax Manager to join its growing team. The firm is known for a consultative, high-touch approach to client service and has a supportive internal culture, with continued growth driving the need for additional hires between tax seasons.

What you'll do

• Manage tax compliance and planning work for individual, business, and entity clients
• Review tax returns and provide guidance to senior and staff-level team members
• Serve as a client-facing advisor on tax, accounting, and planning issues
• Help clients resolve practical bookkeeping/accounting issues that affect tax outcomes
• Coordinate with assurance staff and other team members on overlapping client needs
• Support clients across industries, with construction-industry experience considered a plus

Required qualifications

• Experienced public accounting tax professional with manager-level capability
• Strong individual and business tax review experience
• Ability to manage client relationships and mentor/review staff

Preferred qualifications

• Smaller CPA firm, bookkeeping, or hands-on business accounting exposure preferred
• Construction-industry client experience a plus
• CPA strongly preferred
• Candidates seeking a heavily international tax-focused role are likely not aligned with the firm's current client mix
