Overview
A premier health organization in the Southern Finger Lakes region of New York is seeking a skilled and motivated Speech-Language Pathologist to join its rehabilitative team. This direct-hire role supports pediatric and adult patients in an outpatient and inpatient setting, helping them achieve their highest level of communication and swallowing function.
What you'll do
- Evaluate patients and create individualized treatment plans based on physician orders
- Provide direct therapy to pediatric and adult patients in an outpatient setting
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless care
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on treatment goals and techniques
- Document evaluations, progress notes, and treatment outcomes in compliance with policy
- Participate in departmental initiatives, in-service training, and continuing education
- Contribute to the development of innovative speech therapy programs and services
Required qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program
- Eligible for New York State licensure and registration
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA, or eligibility to obtain
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, required within 90 days of hire
Preferred qualifications
- One to two years of hospital-based experience preferred; new graduates are encouraged to apply
