Overview
A leading international law firm is seeking a skilled Property Coverage Attorney to join its growing Insurance Coverage practice. This role offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated property insurance matters for high-profile clients, handling complex coverage analysis, litigation, and dispute resolution within a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
What you'll do
- Analyze insurance policies and claim materials, draft coverage opinions, and provide strategic recommendations to clients
- Prepare correspondence and communications for clients, colleagues, and opposing counsel
- Review and analyze documents in connection with coverage disputes and litigation
- Conduct comprehensive legal research using platforms such as Westlaw
- Draft and respond to written discovery, pleadings, and dispositive motions
- Conduct and defend depositions and participate in hearings and mediations
- Advocate for clients in dispute resolution proceedings and support case strategy through all phases of litigation
Required qualifications
- JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record
- Active Bar Admission in applicable jurisdiction, in good standing
- 3-8 years of substantive experience in insurance coverage matters
- Experience handling property insurance coverage issues, including policy analysis and claims evaluation
- Strong background in legal research, writing, and drafting, with demonstrated analytical rigor
- Experience preparing coverage opinions, pleadings, briefs, and discovery materials
- Ability to manage time-sensitive and highly confidential matters with professionalism and discretion
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple matters simultaneously
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and clients
Preferred qualifications
- Prior litigation experience, including depositions, hearings, and mediations, preferred
Compensation and benefits
- Associate: $160,000 – $190,000
- Senior Associate: $185,000 – $225,000
- Senior Counsel: $220,000 – $260,000
