Location: Columbus, OH | Schedule: Full-time, field-based with extensive travel

Overview

A manufacturer of engineered appliance components is seeking an Outside Technical Sales Representative to serve as a customer-facing technical resource in the Columbus, Ohio market. This person will act as a liaison between customers and internal engineering, operations, and customer service teams, guiding technical products through every stage of the customer relationship. The role carries significant travel responsibility, including international trips, to maintain strong partnerships and drive business growth.

What you'll do

• Serve as the primary technical sales contact for customers in the appliance and technical components space
• Maintain and grow existing accounts while identifying and pursuing new business opportunities
• Provide hands-on technical guidance throughout the product lifecycle, from initial application through engineering changes and launch
• Collaborate closely with internal engineering, operations, and customer service teams to ensure application requirements are met
• Travel frequently (approximately 70% of the time), including international travel, to support customer relationships and strategic objectives

Required qualifications

• Bachelors of Science in a technical discipline
• 3–5 years of experience in technical or outside sales, or in a customer-facing technical role
• Willingness and ability to travel approximately 70% of the time, including internationally

Preferred qualifications

• A combined background in engineering and business is preferred
• Prior experience preferably within the manufacturing or industrial components sector
• Experience supporting and selling engineered products or technical components is highly desirable
