Location: Rochester Hills, MI | Schedule: Full-time, on-site, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM | Compensation: $45 – $55/hour (approximately $45,000–$55,000 annualized)

Overview

An established automotive repair shop serving the local community for decades is seeking a skilled Master Automotive Technician to join its small, experienced team. This is an opportunity for a technician who wants to focus on diagnosing and repairing vehicles without corporate dealership politics, with a clear path to grow into roles such as Lead Technician, Shop Foreman, or Technical Manager as the business expands.

What you'll do

• Perform advanced vehicle diagnostics and electrical troubleshooting
• Diagnose and resolve drivability concerns
• Diagnose, repair, and replace transmissions
• Diagnose engines and perform major mechanical repairs
• Handle complex repairs other technicians may not be equipped to manage
• Perform general A-Level automotive repair as needed
• Independently diagnose vehicles and recommend appropriate repairs

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of professional automotive repair experience
• Strong diagnostic and electrical abilities
• A-Level / Master-level mechanical skills
• Valid driver's license
• Own professional tools

Preferred qualifications

• Transmission experience strongly preferred
• ASE certifications are preferred, but proven ability matters more than certificates

Compensation and benefits

• $45 – $55/hour, paid weekly (approximately $45,000–$55,000 annualized)
• Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (no weekends)
• 80 hours PTO plus 72 hours paid sick time
• 6 paid holidays
• Health insurance where the employer pays 50%
• ASE testing and certifications paid for by the shop
• Signing / retention bonus of up to $5,000
