Overview
A major manufacturer in the heavy mobile equipment industry is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join its growing production team. This role serves as the critical link between design engineering and the production floor, bringing manufacturing expertise to the launch of new products and the improvement of existing processes. The position reports to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and plays a key role in maintaining production capability, improving quality, reducing cost, enhancing safety, and maximizing throughput.
What you'll do
- Plan, support, and lead the introduction of new products to the manufacturing floor
- Manage the integration of new products into existing lines, understanding how new processes affect line balance, pFMEA, and efficiency
- Develop Operation Method Sheets outlining optimal assembly processes
- Apply advanced Lean concepts and continuous improvement principles to reduce waste in manufacturing processes
- Troubleshoot production line problems
- Lead initiatives that mitigate risk, maintain ISO compliance, and reduce costs
- Lead design initiatives within the manufacturing process, including line/cell layout, tooling, and part flow
- Justify capital equipment investments
- Advance safety and ergonomic practices across the production environment
Required qualifications
- BS Engineering and 1 to 6 years of experience in manufacturing engineering (candidates with under 3 years of experience must have a 3.0+ GPA)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficient computer skills including 3D & 2D CAD (Siemens NX experience preferred), Word, Excel, and Access
- Knowledge of Lean / Six Sigma methodologies
- No visa sponsorship is available for this position
Preferred qualifications
- Siemens NX experience would be great
- Experience with production line layout would be very helpful
