Maintenance Supervisor – Plant Operations

Overview
An established automotive manufacturing facility is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead off-shift plant operations. This role is critical to ensuring equipment reliability, production uptime, and a safe, well-organized manufacturing floor.
What you'll do
- Assist with preventive maintenance programs to minimize maintenance costs across all production equipment
- Complete assignments related to maintenance of machinery and equipment
- Assist with relocating machinery and/or equipment, and dismantling and removing obsolete or worn-out machinery and equipment
- Maintain spare parts inventories
- Schedule work to prevent idle time and maximize machine utilization
- Handle job-related problems in maintenance honestly and fairly, in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Troubleshoot production equipment to support manufacturing and maintenance operations
- Respond to critical production down situations affecting manufacturing
- Maintain a safe work environment and support 5S housekeeping activities on the production floor
- Assist in evaluating causes and elimination of downtime by directing 8D corrective actions when problems occur
- Maintain maintenance software database controlling Preventative and Predictive Maintenance processes for facilities and equipment
- Proactively resolve problems and conflicts
- Demonstrate a consistently positive management approach
- Direct, coach, and supervise subordinates
- Follow and maintain the PM schedule
- Manage employees to promote and maintain a high level of trust and integrity
- Oversee plant utilities and identify opportunities to reduce costs
- Comply with all company safety policies, procedures, and rules
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required
- Recent experience in an Automotive Manufacturing plant
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to supervise and motivate employees in a team environment
- Expert working knowledge of all machine components and integration
- Proven mechanical aptitude for analytical problem solving
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Excellent oral and written presentation skills
- Ability to work with engineering and quality teams to address problem areas and implement solutions
- Must be able to work an off shift
