Overview
A manufacturing company in Royal Oak, MI is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead off-shift maintenance operations, ensuring equipment reliability and a safe, efficient production environment. This is an on-site role requiring availability to work an off shift.
What you'll do
- Assist with preventive maintenance programs to minimize maintenance costs across all production equipment
- Complete assignments related to maintenance of machinery and equipment
- Assist with relocating machinery/equipment and dismantling or removing obsolete or worn-out equipment
- Maintain spare parts inventories
- Schedule work to prevent idle time and maximize machine utilization
- Handle all job-related maintenance issues honestly and fairly, in line with company policies and procedures
- Troubleshoot production equipment to support manufacturing and maintenance operations
- Respond to critical production downtime situations
- Maintain a safe work environment and support general 5S housekeeping on the production floor
- Help evaluate causes of downtime and direct 8D corrective actions as needed
- Maintain maintenance software database controlling preventive and predictive maintenance processes
- Proactively resolve problems and conflicts
- Demonstrate a consistently positive management approach
- Direct, coach, and supervise subordinates
- Follow and maintain the PM schedule
- Manage employees to promote trust and integrity across the team
- Oversee plant utilities and identify cost-reduction opportunities
- Comply with all company safety policies, procedures, and rules
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree required
- Recent experience in an Automotive Manufacturing plant
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to supervise and motivate employees in a team environment
- Expert working knowledge of machine components and integration
- Proven mechanical aptitude for analytical problem solving
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Excellent oral and written presentation skills
- Ability to collaborate with engineering and quality teams to address and resolve problem areas
- Must be able to work an off shift
