Location: New York, NY (must live within 50 miles of a major airport) | Schedule: Full-time, field-based with 90-100% travel required | Compensation: $30.00-$50/hour

Overview

A world-leading manufacturer of CNC machinery, machining centers, automation systems, and laser cutting and turning equipment is expanding its nationwide field service team. This direct-hire Field Service Technician role is critical to supporting customers through equipment commissioning, integration, and troubleshooting at their sites across the country.

What you'll do

  • Support sales staff in servicing company equipment
  • Install new equipment at customer sites
  • Provide solutions for equipment service at customer locations
  • Carefully and accurately document all service performed and future service needs
  • Maintain excellent customer service and customer satisfaction
  • Demonstrate applicable software capabilities to customers
  • Prepare timesheets, service reports, and installation forms in a timely and accurate manner
  • Accurately track expenses and complete expense reports in a timely manner
  • Maintain a safe work environment and operate within OSHA/MIOSHA guidelines
  • Communicate with other departments as necessary
  • Work overtime as required by workload and customer necessity
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Required qualifications

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Able to effectively use the Internet
  • Ability to understand and use I/O structure for technical troubleshooting purposes
  • Ability to effectively utilize electric/electronic test/measurement equipment
  • Able to effectively understand, analyze, and resolve technical mechanical or electrical issues based on measured data results
  • Proficient in reading and comprehending technical information in equipment manuals or electronic media
  • Ability to accurately document technical data and the steps taken to resolve equipment and product issues
  • Ability to communicate technical issues and resolution steps with the corporate office
  • Proven customer service skills with a primary focus on customer relationships
  • Highly organized
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to work effectively with minimal supervision
  • Resourceful; able to discern who to call for assistance based on the technical situation
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Effective team player able to work with all levels of team members and customers
  • Must live within 50 miles of a major airport
  • 90-100% travel required
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

Compensation and benefits

  • $30.00-$50/hour ($30.00-$40.00 hourly pay noted for the role)
