Overview

An established manufacturing company is seeking an Electrical Panel Assembly Technician to build and wire electrical control panels from schematics and blueprints. This hands-on role is ideal for someone with assembly experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and a careful eye for safety and quality.

What you'll do

  • Lay out and mount switches, relays, circuit breakers, transformers, PLCs, and terminal blocks in panels and enclosures
  • Route, strip, crimp, solder, and terminate wires according to electrical schematics and point-to-point wiring diagrams
  • Measure, drill, tap, and cut enclosures and back panels for component installation
  • Inspect finished panels for wiring accuracy, component placement, and structural integrity before testing
  • Apply wire markers, component tags, and terminal labels according to engineering documentation
  • Keep the work area organized and follow site safety and personal protective equipment requirements

Required qualifications

  • One to three years of electrical panel building, electromechanical assembly, or related electrical trade experience
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, blueprints, and bills of materials
  • Experience using wire strippers, crimpers, screwdrivers, drills, taps, and similar tools
  • Attention to wire routing, color coding, and component placement
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, safely lift up to 50 pounds, and perform repetitive tasks requiring fine motor skills
  • High school diploma or GED

Preferred qualifications

  • Technical training in electricity or electronics is a plus
