Overview
A manufacturing organization in the Columbus, OH area is seeking a Design Engineer - Electrical to design, develop, and optimize electrical components. This individual will partner with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that balance performance, efficiency, and reliability, playing a key role in shaping products that meet rigorous engineering and manufacturing standards.
What you'll do
- Produce detailed designs for electrical components
- Build prototypes and run testing to validate designs, troubleshoot problems, and improve performance metrics such as efficiency, torque, and durability
- Manage multiple design projects at the same time
- Pinpoint opportunities to refine designs for better efficiency, reduced weight, and lower production costs
- Prepare technical documentation
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality assurance, and supply chain teams to confirm designs are manufacturable, cost-effective, aligned with industry standards, and that product specifications meet or exceed expectations
- Verify designs comply with applicable industry standards and environmental regulations
Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- 1-6years of experience in design engineering
- Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing principles
- Proficiency in CAD software
