Overview
A gaming-focused company is seeking a highly agile Data Scientist / Analytics Lead to drive real-time insights that directly influence game performance, player behavior, and business decisions. This role requires someone who can think on their feet, connect patterns quickly, and translate data into action in a fast-moving gaming environment.
What you'll do
- Own game and business KPIs, from definition through ongoing optimization
- Build and evolve dashboards and analytics used daily by Game Design and Leadership
- Analyze player behavior, game performance, and experiments (A/B testing)
- Quickly identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities, and act on them
- Translate complex data into clear, compelling stories that drive decisions
- Partner closely with Game Designers, Product, and Management in a rapid-iteration environment
Required qualifications
- Strong analytical instincts and the ability to problem-solve independently
- Comfort working with incomplete or evolving data
- Experience influencing decisions, not just reporting numbers
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Applied Math, Data Science, or related field
- Proficiency with SQL, Tableau or Power BI, Excel, and Python or R
- Experience with A/B testing and performance measurement
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with predictive modeling, machine learning, or AI
- Familiarity with gaming or online player data (slots a plus)
- Experience with Snowflake and modern data stacks
- Master's degree for senior-level candidates
