Overview

An established pharmaceutical manufacturer is seeking a Chemist to support its quality control laboratory. This role is essential to ensuring finished products and raw materials meet rigorous testing and compliance standards in a regulated cGMP environment.

What you'll do

• Perform Release, Stability, and Special Request testing of finished products and raw material samples following SOPs, in-house test methods, and/or compendial methods
• Independently execute in-house methods and procedures with little to no assistance
• Adapt to changes in testing schedules and laboratory process improvements
• Assist in training new laboratory personnel and document training per established SOPs and training programs
• Maintain a safe work environment and ensure all testing equipment is calibrated and properly maintained
• Train on and operate laboratory instrumentation including Laboratory Balances, HPLC, GC, Automated Titrators, FTIR, UV/Vis Spectrophotometer, Polarimeter, and Dissolution/Disintegration equipment, as well as additional instrumentation as needed
• Execute projects assigned by management within established deadlines while balancing testing responsibilities
• Stay current on publications from USP, FDA, and other regulatory bodies regarding analytical applications, release specifications, and documentation practices
• Assist in resolving laboratory Out-Of-Specification results in accordance with investigation procedures, as assigned
• Communicate effectively across departments and function well within a team environment
• Perform other duties as required to meet company objectives

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry
• Effective interpersonal and self-motivation skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of personnel
• Attention to detail and basic process analytical skills
• Ability to use fractions, decimals, and commercial arithmetic, along with basic grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills
• Physical ability to stand, bend, climb stairs, use hands and arms to lift and reach, and lift, pull and push a minimum of 50 pounds
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and to bend and squat as needed

Preferred qualifications

• 1 + years of laboratory experience working in a cGMP environment
• Experience operating laboratory instrumentation, including Gas Chromatography (GC) and/or Liquid Chromatography (LC)
• Degree concentration in Biochemistry, Inorganic, Physical, or Polymer Chemistry
