Chemical Process/ Production Engineer

Overview
A global chemical manufacturer is expanding its Chemical Process Team and seeking a Process/Production Engineer to support plant unit operations, drive continuous improvement, assist with process and product startups, and ensure adherence to EHS/PSM regulations. This role is based on-site in Mount Pleasant, SC.
What you'll do
- Provide day-to-day production support for batch and continuous chemical operations, including troubleshooting and problem solving of process and equipment issues
- Track production yields and perform mass balances
- Lead process improvement projects
- Manage continuous improvement efforts in safety, productivity, quality, reliability, and cost
- Support process downtime and runtime
- Participate in production and material planning, packaging, shipping, and receiving
- Participate in PSM initiatives and audits
- Implement change management processes including MOC, PSSR, P&ID, hazard reviews, SOPs, SPC, and SQC
- Lead incident investigations and problem-solving sessions covering safety, quality, production, and reliability
- Assist with training of operations teams
What you'll need
- BS Chemical Engineering degree
- 3+ years of experience as a Process/Production Engineer or Leader in PSM/chemical operating plants
- Preferred experience with Lean/ Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement, PHA, MOC, and P&IDs
- Familiarity with process unit operations and controls, including reactors, distillation, polymerization, esterification, filtration, dryers, twin-screw extrusion, and heat treatment
- Able to work in the USA without sponsorship, now or in the future
