Overview

A regional CPA firm serving the Denver, CO market is looking for an experienced Audit Senior to join its growing assurance practice. This generalist role offers a clear path toward management, a hybrid work schedule, and a firm culture that values work-life balance. The Senior Auditor will take ownership of engagement execution, mentor junior staff, and serve as a key point of contact for clients throughout the audit lifecycle.

What you'll do

• Carry out audit and review procedures and contribute to other assigned projects
• Develop a working understanding of each client's business, industry, and accounting and control environment
• Evaluate risk and assess the strength of client internal control structures
• Perform and document analytical procedures, substantive testing, and tests of controls to surface and resolve accounting or reporting issues
• Draft and review financial statements and other deliverables for clients
• Train, direct, and review the work of staff and experienced staff auditors
• Stay engaged across every stage of an engagement, from initial planning through final issuance
• Cultivate strong, lasting client relationships
• Apply technical expertise consistently while upholding firm and professional standards

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field
• Two years of experience in public accounting
• Active CPA license, or actively pursuing licensure by sitting for the applicable state CPA exam
• Ability to travel to client locations as assigned
• Solid working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, United States Generally Accepted Auditing Standards, and Public Company Accounting Oversight Board standards
