Overview
A globally recognized law firm with a top-tier Cybersecurity, Privacy & AI practice is seeking a highly qualified Associate Attorney to join its collaborative and forward-thinking team. This role offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated privacy, data protection, and technology matters at the forefront of an evolving regulatory landscape.
What you'll do
- Advise clients on state, federal, and international privacy laws, including strategic counseling and compliance
- Support deal diligence in mergers and acquisitions, financings, and commercial transactions
- Counsel clients on data-driven technologies, including AI/ML, biometrics, and related global regulatory frameworks
- Manage complex, fast-moving matters in a collaborative team environment
Required qualifications
- JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record
- Active Bar Admission in relevant jurisdiction, in good standing
- 4-7 years of substantive experience in cybersecurity, privacy, and data protection matters
- Hands-on experience advising clients on state, federal, and international privacy laws, including strategic counseling and compliance
- Experience supporting deal diligence in mergers and acquisitions, financings, and commercial transactions
- Working familiarity with data-driven technologies, including AI/ML, biometrics, and related global regulatory frameworks
- Large law firm experience required
- Strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage complex, fast-moving matters in a collaborative team environment
Preferred qualifications
- Familiarity with GDPR / UK GDPR, cross-border data transfers, and international privacy regimes preferred
- Exposure to laws such as HIPAA, ECPA, COPPA, CAN-SPAM, VPPA, FERPA, CCPA/CPRA, and other state consumer privacy and data breach laws is a plus
- Experience with data breach response, incident investigations, and defense of regulatory enforcement actions brought by state attorneys general, the FTC, OCR/HHS, SEC cybersecurity regulators, or EU authorities is a plus
