Overview
A respected community hospital is seeking a full-time Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) with urology experience to join its hospital-owned urology practice. This role offers an independent patient panel, strong physician collaboration, and an excellent work-life balance.
What you'll do
- Provide comprehensive outpatient urology care
- Conduct detailed histories and physical examinations
- Evaluate and manage acute and chronic urologic conditions
- Order and interpret diagnostic studies (labs, imaging, etc.)
- Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians
- Provide patient education and counseling
- Participate in first-call coverage as appropriate
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation
- Contribute to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
Required qualifications
- For Nurse Practitioners: Master’s degree in Nursing, national certification through ANCC or equivalent, and registration with the Vermont State Board of Nursing
- For Physician Assistants: graduate of an AMA-approved Physician Assistant program, NCCPA certification, and registration with the Vermont State Board of Medical Practice
- Minimum 2 years of NP or PA experience in urology required
- Vermont licensure (or ability to obtain)
- Unit-specific certifications as required (ACLS, TNCC, PALS, ENPC as applicable)
- Completion of patient/visitor de-escalation and restraint certification per department guidelines
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating within a team-based model
