Location: New York, NY | Schedule: Full-time, on-site 5 days/week

Overview

An established wholesale manufacturer of branded and licensed children's apparel is seeking an Associate 3D Technical Designer to join its New York team. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining consistent quality and fit standards across the children's apparel line, playing a key part in ensuring products meet brand and safety expectations.

What you'll do

• Partner with Design and Production teams to establish and maintain fit and construction standards that ensure brand consistency and quality
• Create spec packages for each style, including correct grade rules and non-standard construction details
• Accurately measure and evaluate development and proto samples for spec, quality, and workmanship
• Prepare and lead fit sessions with Design and Production departments
• Communicate measurement, construction, and workmanship feedback to vendors, including detailed explanations, diagrams, and/or patterns as needed
• Collaborate with Production and Compliance departments to ensure all products meet relevant children's safety requirements
• Respond to email inquiries regarding fit, specs, pattern, and construction as needed

Required qualifications

• Minimum 2 years relevant experience, including childrenswear experience
• Experience with Browzwear 3D software or similar software
• Familiarity with measuring sample points of measurement to ensure submitted samples are within tolerance of required specifications
• Strong knowledge of knit and woven garment construction
• Knowledge of patternmaking, sewing terminology, and garment construction
• Understanding of garment manufacturing and product development processes
• Proficiency in Excel and MS Word
• Willingness to work in the office 5 days/week

Preferred qualifications

• Knowledge of Illustrator a plus
