Overview
An established, long-running industrial hardware distributor operates mobile stores that bring products and service directly to customers across industries such as transportation, aviation, facilities maintenance, aerospace, medical, military, marine, power generation, manufacturing, government, and heavy equipment. The company is seeking a Territory Manager to run a fully stocked mobile store and build a sales territory through direct customer engagement.
What you'll do
- Develop new sales prospects through research, referrals, and calls on businesses near existing customers
- Make face-to-face calls on cold and warm sales prospects
- Present products and services using sample boards, product demonstrations, and the mobile store
- Maintain the cleanliness, operation, marketing, and functionality of the mobile store
- Submit complete and accurate daily business reports detailing sales orders and prospect calls
- Maintain customer contact information, including notes, names, phone numbers, and addresses, using company software
Required qualifications
- Must reside within the assigned territory; relocation is not available
- Must be able to purchase or lease an approved mobile store vehicle
- Must maintain a clean driving history
- Must have the physical ability to kneel and bend to the floor on a regular basis
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Strong, tenured work history with no job hopping; a maximum of 3 companies over the past 10 years is ideal
- Excellent analytical, reasoning, and organizational skills
- Proficiency with databases, spreadsheets, email, and common business applications
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with a proven history of goal attainment
Preferred qualifications
- Outside industrial sales experience, especially in route or industrial sales, is preferred
