Location: Miami, FL (with oversight of a Broward County office) | Schedule: Full-time, in-office, Monday through Friday 8:30-5 (flexible), plus on-call rotation | Compensation: $100,000 base salary

Overview

A Medicare-certified home health agency serving the Miami and Broward County areas is seeking a Director of Nursing to lead clinical operations across two office locations. This is a critical leadership role responsible for ensuring quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and effective supervision of clinical staff.

What you'll do

  • Direct and coordinate clinical activities of the agency, reporting to the Administrator
  • Supervise all personnel delivering direct patient services, including field clinicians who work on a per diem basis
  • Oversee workflows, processes, and plans of care across both office locations
  • Assist with recruiting, hiring, orienting, and ongoing in-service education of nursing staff
  • Maintain and adhere to agency procedures and patient care policy
  • Establish service policies and procedures in compliance with state health statutes and administrative rules, including CDC guidelines, OSHA guidelines for employee safety, universal precautions, and infection control procedures
  • Assure compliance with company policy and all federal, state, and local regulatory bodies, including Conditions of Participation
  • Remain informed of home health regulations, standards, and management issues
  • Serve as accountable party for all clinical issues
  • Provide guidance and support for supervisory, field, and office staff
  • Conduct employee performance evaluations and assist with development of new job standards as needed
  • Counsel staff in a timely manner on areas of deficiency, excellence, and quality improvement
  • Ensure coordination of care across all disciplines
  • Assure reassessment of client needs is performed appropriately, such as after a significant health status change or hospital discharge
  • Participate in review, analysis, and appraisal of overall agency program effectiveness
  • Participate in short- and long-range planning, implementing measures for agency growth and increasing market share through physician and referral source education
  • Participate in state, local, and national organizations, meetings, and activities relating to the home health profession
  • Assure service satisfaction through client visits and other measures; investigate and resolve agency complaints
  • Develop, implement, review, and revise policies and procedures guiding care delivery
  • Monitor compliance with applicable laws, professional standards, and established policies
  • Be available during business hours or designate a qualified alternate registered nurse in writing for periods of absence

Required qualifications

  • Registered Nurse
  • Medicare Home Health experience required
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a Medicare Home Health Agency
  • Willingness to sign offer letter and restrictive covenants
  • Ability to oversee two office locations (Miami and Broward County)
  • Availability for on-call rotation

Preferred qualifications

  • Bilingual a plus

Compensation and benefits

  • $100,000 base salary
  • Full benefits including health, dental, vision, and life insurance after 60 days
  • 401k retirement plan with up to 3% match
  • PTO/Vacation: 80 hours in first two years, 3 weeks in year 3
