Overview
A top-tier international law firm is seeking an experienced Of Counsel attorney to join its Projects & Energy Finance practice, focusing on energy transition financing and data center project work. This is a high-impact role supporting sophisticated financings for renewable energy and digital infrastructure projects across the U.S. and internationally.
What you'll do
- Lead and manage transactions related to the financing, acquisition, and development of energy transition projects and platforms
- Draft and negotiate loan and security documentation and coordinate complex deal closings
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (tax, environmental, regulatory) to structure and close complex deals
- Stay current with evolving energy policy and regulatory developments affecting project finance
Required qualifications
- JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record
- Active Bar Admission in the relevant jurisdiction, in good standing
- 9+ years of substantive experience in energy transition financing, including project finance or other financings related to energy transition or digital infrastructure
- Demonstrated experience drafting and negotiating loan and security documentation and coordinating complex deal closings
- Proven ability to independently lead transactions, interact with clients, and mentor junior team members
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, client-facing environment with sophisticated institutional clients
- Interest in sustainability and innovation within the energy and infrastructure space
- Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills, strong business acumen, and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
Preferred qualifications
- Relevant experience at an AmLaw 100 firm strongly preferred
Compensation and benefits
- Annual base salary expected to range from $450,000 – $525,000, depending on experience, qualifications, and market factors
