Location: Englewood, CO | Schedule: Full-time, on-site | Compensation: Starting at approximately $85,000 annually, with additional consideration based on experience and qualifications
Overview
An engineering and equipment supply organization is seeking a Project Scheduler to support projects throughout their full lifecycle. Working closely with Project Managers and cross-functional teams, this role establishes realistic schedules, monitors progress, identifies potential risks, and helps ensure projects are delivered on time and in accordance with contractual requirements.
What you'll do
- Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules using industry best practices and project contractual requirements
- Build, manage, and revise Level 4 resource-loaded Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules
- Monitor project progress, identify schedule impacts, and recommend corrective actions when needed
- Analyze schedule performance and provide regular progress reports to Project Managers and leadership teams
- Maintain schedule accuracy by incorporating project updates, milestone changes, task completion, and meeting outcomes
- Coordinate scheduling activities across engineering, procurement, project management, and other project stakeholders
- Develop and maintain Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) to support project planning, tracking, and reporting
- Perform baseline comparisons, forecasting, and "what-if" schedule analysis to evaluate project risks and recovery strategies
- Assist with contingency planning by working closely with Project Management and Project Controls
- Identify critical path activities, schedule constraints, and potential project delays while helping drive timely resolution
- Support cross-functional coordination by tracking action items and ensuring schedule-related issues are communicated effectively
- Prepare routine scheduling reports and other project documentation as required
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Required qualifications
- 2 to 5 years of project scheduling experience, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience
- Working knowledge and practical experience with Primavera P6 (advanced proficiency required)
- Working knowledge and practical experience with Microsoft Project
- Working knowledge and practical experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Experience with Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling
- Experience with resource-loaded project schedules
- Experience with Work Breakdown Structures (WBS)
- Experience with schedule forecasting and progress analysis
- Experience with schedule baseline management
- Experience with project reporting and documentation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with engineering, project management, procurement, and executive leadership teams
- Comfortable handling confidential information with professionalism and discretion
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive working relationships across all levels of an organization
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while contributing as part of a collaborative project team
Preferred qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field preferred
- Experience supporting engineering, industrial, construction, mining, or heavy equipment projects is highly desirable
- Knowledge of mining and/or bulk material handling projects is preferred
- Experience in engineering design or industrial project environments
- Experience in mining, bulk material handling, or heavy industrial facilities
- Experience in resource planning, project controls, and schedule performance reporting
- Experience in schedule risk analysis and recovery planning
