Location: Conroe, TX | Schedule: full time, on-site | Compensation: $50hr-$65hr depending on experience, plus full benefits package and 20K sign on bonus

Overview

A not-for-profit, accredited acute care community hospital with about 120 beds, along with an affiliated Rural Health Clinic, located within an hour of Houston, TX, serving a community of roughly 70,000 residents, is seeking a Physical Therapist to join its Inpatient Acute Care team. What you'll do

• Organize and conduct medically prescribed physical therapy programs to restore function and prevent disability following disease, injury, or loss of a body part, under the general supervision of the Director of Therapy Services
• Help patients reach maximum performance and reintegrate into society within their capabilities
• Plan individualized therapy programs involving exercise, massage, heat, water, light, and electricity as prescribed by a physician
• Apply diagnostic and prognostic tests for muscles, nerves, joints, and functional ability
• Direct and assist patients in active and passive exercises, muscle reeducation, gait and functional training using pulleys, weights, steps, and inclined surfaces
• Administer whirlpool and contrast baths and apply moist packs
• Direct patients in the care and use of wheelchairs, walkers, standers, braces, crutches, and prosthetic and orthotic devices
• Instruct patients in posture control and therapeutic procedures, and develop, instruct, and monitor home exercise programs
• Adapt conventional physical therapy techniques for patients unable to comprehend verbal commands or voluntarily perform exercise regimes
• Evaluate, record, and report on patient progress for the rehabilitative team
• Maintain department records and patient documentation, including daily notes in SOAP format
• Support department policies, procedures, quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control programs, and assist with equipment and supply maintenance
• Participate in educational programs and in-service meetings for professional development
• Conduct or participate in training medical, nursing, and other staff in physical therapy techniques and objectives

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy
• Current Physical Therapist license
• Basic Life Support certification required within 60 days of employment
• Position is full time

Preferred qualifications

• Master's degree preferred
• New grads welcome to apply
• Prior Cardiac Rehab experience preferred
