Overview

A well-regarded healthcare organization in a rural-but-accessible area of east central Ohio is seeking outpatient/retail pharmacists to join its growing pharmacy team. This is an opportunity to provide high-quality patient care in a collaborative environment with strong career growth potential.

What you'll do

• Interpret prescriptions and dispense pharmaceuticals and related devices in accordance with federal, state, and local laws
• Provide patient education and counseling
• Supervise technical staff and model courteous, compassionate care for customers and co-workers
• Review patient utilization, therapeutic duplications, disease state, drug interactions, drug allergies, dosage and duration of treatment, and potential drug abuse or misuse, taking appropriate action when concerns arise
• Contact prescribers for clarification of orders or to notify them of unobtainable medications
• Verify appropriate pharmaceutical agent matches the prescription order
• Verify that each patient receives the specific drug from the proper practitioner
• Calculate accurate doses and prepare compounded prescriptions and IV medications according to physician orders
• Oversee cash management of the store and monitor staff activity
• Assist in orienting new staff, interns, and externs to the department
• Manage workflow, assign workloads, and approve overtime and time off as needed
• Assist in ordering and inventory management of pharmaceuticals to maintain quality, cost-effective products and appropriate inventory levels
• Secure the building before leaving at the close of the day
• Act as pharmacist in charge in the absence of the managing pharmacist

Required qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited college of pharmacy
• Licensed pharmacist in the State of Ohio
• Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form
• Ability to provide outstanding customer service and maintain a high degree of confidentiality

Compensation and benefits

• Pay range: $54.85hr ($114K) to $75hr ($156K), depending on years of experience (approximately $64.52hr, $134K for someone with ~10 years experience)
• Full benefits package offered
• full time (1 position) and part time (1 position) openings available
• One location operates Mon-Fri 8am-8pm and 9am-5pm on Saturday & Sunday; RPh's work 1 Saturday every 4 weeks and 1 Sunday every 12 weeks, with scheduling options of three 12-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts
• A second location operates Mon-Fri 9am-7pm and Sat 9am-5pm (closed Sunday), with RPh shifts of 9am-5:30pm or 10:30am-7pm and one Saturday every four weeks
• Both locations closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas, with holiday rotation (one holiday worked per year or two)
• Uses a Parata Max robot that dispenses approximately 45% of prescription volume
