Overview
A global leader in power electronics and energy infrastructure is building a new R&D team to develop next-generation, high-density power conversion platforms. This individual contributor role centers on advanced development and prototyping for MW-class systems supporting data center and high-power infrastructure applications, offering direct influence over platform-level design decisions and global collaboration across the U.S., Europe, and Asia.
What you'll do
- Design and evaluate high-power conversion systems ranging from kW to MW
- Execute topology trade-offs, efficiency optimization, and thermal/EMI analysis
- Perform hands-on lab bring-up, testing, and debugging
- Develop prototype and reference designs (no production ownership)
- Lead deep technical troubleshooting beyond FAE-level issues
- Drive root-cause analysis, validation, and resolution strategies including calculations, simulations, formula derivation, and waveform analysis
- Engage directly with U.S.-based customers to translate requirements into engineering direction and design improvements
- Support evaluations with data-driven technical recommendations using tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, PSpice, Cadence Virtuoso, and Allegro
- Partner with international R&D teams across Europe and Asia, sharing findings and contributing to global platform development
Required qualifications
- Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering
- Hands-on experience with AC/DC, DC/DC, or inverter-based power systems
- Strong foundation in lab validation, testing, debugging, and system-level optimization
- Core focus areas: AC/DC, DC/DC, and HVDC/DC converters supporting data center and high-power infrastructure applications
- Willingness to travel 20–25%, including to Europe and Asia
- Relocation available for North America candidates only
- Visa: H1B transfer supported, Green Card, US Citizen, or TN Visa
Preferred qualifications
- Ph.D. focus in Power Electronics / Power Conversion preferred
- Bilingual is a nice-to-have
Compensation and benefits
