Overview

A premier health organization in the Finger Lakes region of New York is seeking an experienced and dedicated Outpatient Physical Therapist to join its supportive physical therapy team. This is a direct hire opportunity to provide top-tier rehabilitation care in a specialized outpatient clinic, working closely with a diverse group of patients and contributing meaningfully to their recovery and quality of life.

What you'll do

• Conduct initial evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs
• Administer therapeutic treatments, including exercises, manual therapy, modalities (such as ultrasound, heat/ice therapy, and electrical stimulation), and patient education
• Educate patients on exercise programs, posture correction, and injury prevention to support long-term recovery and improved functional outcomes
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed to meet rehabilitation goals
• Document treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in compliance with departmental policies and industry standards
• Provide patient education to empower individuals in managing their rehabilitation and preventing future injuries
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment, adhering to infection control and safety guidelines

Required qualifications

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent degree from an accredited program
• Must hold or be eligible to obtain a valid Physical Therapist license in the state at the time of hire
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with patients, families, and team members
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to deliver high-quality, compassionate care for patients with orthopedic, neurological, and musculoskeletal conditions
• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds independently and up to 150 pounds with assistance
• Ability to perform frequent standing, walking, bending, and moving of patients during treatment sessions
• Physical Therapists on an F1 student visa with OPT work authorization are encouraged to apply and will be considered

Preferred qualifications

• Prior experience in outpatient physical therapy settings is preferred
