Overview
A fast-growing manufacturer of advanced DoD sensing technology is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead digital hardware development for next-generation products. This role offers the chance to work on innovative digital hardware, FPGA, and high-speed electronic systems alongside a highly skilled, multidisciplinary engineering team.
What you'll do
- Lead the design and development of advanced digital hardware for next-generation products
- Design multi-layer PCBs, develop schematics, and support board layout activities
- Architect and develop FPGA solutions using VHDL and/or Verilog on modern Xilinx platforms
- Perform hardware integration, testing, validation, troubleshooting, and production support
- Design high-speed digital interfaces, data acquisition systems, digital signal processing (DSP), and communication architectures
- Develop Python and Bash scripts to automate engineering workflows and improve efficiency
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams throughout the entire product development lifecycle
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of digital hardware design experience
- Experience designing analog and digital circuits including FPGAs, microcontrollers, memory, and high-speed interfaces
- Hands-on experience using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and similar lab equipment
- Experience with VHDL and/or Verilog
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- U.S. Citizenship required with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance
Preferred qualifications
- Altium Designer
- Xilinx Vivado
- RF Systems or Software Defined Radio (SDR)
- Digital Signal Processing (DSP)
- MATLAB, Python, and Linux
- Experience performing design reviews and providing technical leadership
