Location: La Grande, OR (Rural Eastern Oregon) | Schedule: Full-time, permanent, Four 10-Hour Days, Day Shift | Compensation: $135K - $140K+ per year

Overview

A hospital-employed cardiology practice in rural Eastern Oregon is seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Associate (PA) to join its cardiology team. The provider will work collaboratively with cardiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals with cardiovascular conditions, including comprehensive assessments, disease management, diagnostic evaluation, and patient education.

What you'll do

• Perform comprehensive physical examinations and cardiovascular assessments for new and follow-up patients
• Manage chronic conditions including heart failure, coronary artery disease, arrhythmias, and hypertension
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as 12-lead EKGs, echocardiograms, and cardiac stress tests
• Educate patients and families on disease pathology, medication adherence, and surgical recovery
• Counsel patients on lifestyle modifications including heart-healthy nutrition, exercise, and smoking cessation
• Coordinate care transitions between inpatient units, outpatient clinics, and primary care providers
• Document patient encounters accurately within the electronic health record system for billing and continuity
• Triage urgent patient concerns and facilitate emergency admissions or interventions when necessary
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds to discuss complex patient cases and optimize clinical outcomes
• Assist in the performance of minor clinical procedures as permitted by state law and facility credentialing

Required qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
• Current NP or PA licensure
• 1-2 years of experience as a NP/PA
• Board certification or board eligibility
• Comfort with and interest in practicing in a rural community setting

Compensation and benefits

• Compensation of $135K - $140K+ per year
