Overview
An established manufacturer located in Waterloo, Iowa is seeking a skilled Fabrication Welder to join its production team. This role is key to producing high-quality weldments that meet strict blueprint specifications and keep the production schedule on track.
What you'll do
- Weld large and small weldments to meet production requirements
- Lay out parts and fabricate as needed
- Read prints and pass a weld test
- Produce all parts per blueprint requirements in a timely manner to meet the production schedule
- Keep the work area clean and organized
Required qualifications
- 2+ years of experience welding in a Manufacturing environment
- Ability to read blueprints
- Proficient in measuring and calculating fractions and decimals
- Ability to utilize various measurement tools, including square, angle square, calipers, and tape measure
- Ability to use wrenches, air tools, handheld grinders, overhead cranes, and perform steel handling with frequent lifting
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. regularly and up to 75 pounds
- Ability to stand or be on your feet all day
- Must pass a drug screening and background check
Compensation and benefits
- $25-29/hour, equivalent to roughly $25,000-$29,000 for a comparable part-year basis, pay commensurate with experience
