Location: Columbus, OH | Schedule: Full-time, on-site, 2nd and 3rd shift | Compensation: $30.28 per hour

Overview

A full-service, tier-one supplier specializing in the design and production of lighting equipment, accessories, and electronic components is seeking a Surface Mount Technology (SMT) Technician for its Ohio facility. This hybrid operator/technician role supports a fast-paced, just-in-time production environment producing printed wiring boards (PWB), and is ideal for someone with strong mechanical aptitude looking to grow into a rewarding career.

What you'll do

• Follow operating procedures in a safe and efficient manner
• Achieve quality and production goals as part of the operator function
• Conduct preventative maintenance and troubleshoot machine issues during production
• Communicate downtime and quality concerns to SMT Leadership and the PEIII Group
• Demonstrate solid organizational skills and attention to detail
• Exercise critical thinking and problem-solving
• Work well independently and as part of a team
• Communicate thoroughly and in a timely manner

Required qualifications

• Maintenance skills with basic hand tools and change over processes
• Strong independent skills to assess quality and machine issues and make solid snap decisions
• Adept time management skills to keep multiple machines producing and on target
• Strong understanding of C.Core inventory processes
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Ability to work in confined spaces under and within production equipment
• Ability to withstand prolonged periods of standing, bending, and kneeling
• Ability to safely position body to reach all equipment access points
• Willingness to work overtime (unplanned and unscheduled) to meet customer deadlines
• No visa sponsorship or relocation assistance provided; this is not a remote position

Preferred qualifications

• Electronics manufacturing background preferred
• IPC 610 certification preferred but not required
• LOTO certified preferred but not required
