Overview

A commercial banking organization is seeking an experienced SBA Relationship Manager to originate new lending relationships and grow an existing portfolio of business clients. This client-facing role suits someone skilled in SBA lending, commercial banking, business development, credit analysis, and relationship management who can generate new business, structure lending opportunities, and build long-term relationships with business owners and referral partners.

What you'll do

• Generate new SBA loan opportunities through prospecting, networking, referrals, and relationship development
• Develop and manage relationships with business owners and commercial clients
• Analyze borrower financial statements, cash flow, credit history, and overall creditworthiness
• Structure and recommend SBA loan opportunities for approval
• Prepare and present loan requests to the appropriate credit or loan committee
• Manage and grow an existing portfolio of business relationships
• Develop additional deposits, cash management, and business banking opportunities
• Cross-sell appropriate banking products and services
• Maintain accurate credit, loan, and portfolio documentation
• Partner with internal lending and operations teams to provide excellent client service

Required qualifications

• Experience in SBA lending, commercial lending, or business banking
• Proven sales and business development experience
• Strong understanding of credit analysis and business financial statements
• Experience developing and managing a loan portfolio
• Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills
• Ability to independently generate new business and develop referral relationships

Preferred qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience preferred
• Background as an SBA Relationship Manager, SBA Business Development Officer (BDO), Commercial Relationship Manager, SBA Loan Officer, Commercial Loan Officer, or Business Banking Relationship Manager

Compensation and benefits

• $85,000–$130,000 annual base salary, depending on experience
