Overview
A prominent international law firm is seeking an experienced Senior Associate or Counsel to join its Real Estate practice in New York. This role suits a seasoned real estate attorney with deep experience in real estate finance, particularly on the lender side, who can independently manage complex transactions from initial structuring through closing. The position offers significant responsibility, direct client interaction, and the opportunity to work on sophisticated, high-value real estate financings within a collaborative and dynamic environment.
What you'll do
- Represent lenders and other clients in complex commercial real estate transactions
- Draft, review, and negotiate loan agreements and related transaction documents
- Conduct title and survey review, analysis, and resolution of related issues
- Provide strategic guidance to clients on real estate financing structures and risk mitigation
- Independently manage transaction workflows, timelines, and deal execution
- Interface directly with clients, opposing counsel, and other transaction participants
- Collaborate with attorneys across related practice areas as needed
Required qualifications
- JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record
- Active Bar Admission in New York in good standing
- 7+ years of substantive real estate transactional experience
- Significant experience with real estate financing transactions, including lender representation
- Strong background in loan document drafting, negotiation, and execution
- Experience conducting and reviewing title and survey diligence
- Proven ability to independently manage transactions from structuring through closing
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and sound commercial judgment
