Overview

A community health center in the Greater Sacramento area is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant to provide comprehensive primary care to diverse and underserved populations. The role works collaboratively with physicians and multidisciplinary care teams, with multiple locations available in the Sacramento area.

What you'll do

  • Perform comprehensive patient evaluations, including history and physical examinations
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions
  • Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging, and other diagnostics
  • Prescribe medications and therapeutic interventions within scope of practice
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the Medical Director
  • Monitor patient progress and modify care plans as appropriate
  • Initiate emergency procedures when clinically indicated
  • Provide preventive care, health education, and counseling services
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with agency and regulatory standards
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated, high-quality care

What you'll need

  • Active California Physician Assistant license
  • NCCPA board certification
  • Current DEA certification
  • Current BLS certification
  • 1–2 years of clinical experience preferred, particularly in community health or underserved populations
  • Strong commitment to serving low-income, homeless, or medically underserved communities
  • Bilingual skills in English and Russian, Farsi, Pashto/Pushto, or Spanish strongly preferred

Compensation and benefits

  • $131,000 – $170,000 annually (based on experience)
  • Full-time schedule, Mondays to Fridays 8-5 PM, or 4-day 10-hour shift available
