Location: East Hanover, NJ | Schedule: Full-time, Field Service (on-site/on-the-road) | Compensation: $65K - $85K base (depending on experience), plus overtime potential of $10K - $20K annually

Overview

An established industrial controls company with a long-standing reputation in designing, installing, and servicing control systems and electronic drives is seeking a Field Service Engineer to join its regional service team. This role is critical to maintaining strong client relationships through hands-on technical support and troubleshooting in the field.

What you'll do

• Provide field service support for control systems and electronic drives at customer sites
• Troubleshoot and repair PLCs, Motor Controls, HMI systems, Motor Drives, and Variable Frequency Drives
• Perform panel wiring and related electrical/electronic work
• Read and interpret schematics to diagnose and resolve system issues
• Troubleshoot electronics to the component level as needed
• Work independently with minimal supervision while representing the company professionally at client locations
• Operate a company-provided vehicle to travel to service locations

Required qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Ability to communicate clearly in English
• Must reside within commuting distance of East Hanover, NJ (local NJ/NYC area candidates only)
• Good driving record required (company vehicle provided)
• Experience with Panel Wiring, PLCs, HMI, Motor Drives, Control Systems, and Variable Frequency Drives
• Field Service experience
• 18 month technical certification or an Associates Degree
• Ability to work well with minimal supervision
• Must pass a background check and drug screen
• Must be able to read schematics and demonstrate ability to troubleshoot electronics to the component level during the hiring process

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with the ability to troubleshoot electronics to the component level is a plus

Compensation and benefits

• Starting base salary in the $65K - $85K range, depending on experience
• Overtime opportunities that can add an additional $10K - $20K annually
