Overview
A Medicare-certified home health agency serving the Miami and Broward County areas is seeking a Director of Nursing to lead clinical operations across two office locations. This is a critical leadership role responsible for ensuring quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and effective supervision of clinical staff.
What you'll do
- Direct and coordinate clinical activities of the agency, reporting to the Administrator
- Supervise all personnel delivering direct patient services, including field clinicians who work on a per diem basis
- Oversee workflows, processes, and plans of care across both office locations
- Assist with recruiting, hiring, orienting, and ongoing in-service education of nursing staff
- Maintain and adhere to agency procedures and patient care policy
- Establish service policies and procedures in compliance with state health statutes and administrative rules, including CDC guidelines, OSHA guidelines for employee safety, universal precautions, and infection control procedures
- Assure compliance with company policy and all federal, state, and local regulatory bodies, including Conditions of Participation
- Remain informed of home health regulations, standards, and management issues
- Serve as accountable party for all clinical issues
- Provide guidance and support for supervisory, field, and office staff
- Conduct employee performance evaluations and assist with development of new job standards as needed
- Counsel staff in a timely manner on areas of deficiency, excellence, and quality improvement
- Ensure coordination of care across all disciplines
- Assure reassessment of client needs is performed appropriately, such as after a significant health status change or hospital discharge
- Participate in review, analysis, and appraisal of overall agency program effectiveness
- Participate in short- and long-range planning, implementing measures for agency growth and increasing market share through physician and referral source education
- Participate in state, local, and national organizations, meetings, and activities relating to the home health profession
- Assure service satisfaction through client visits and other measures; investigate and resolve agency complaints
- Develop, implement, review, and revise policies and procedures guiding care delivery
- Monitor compliance with applicable laws, professional standards, and established policies
- Be available during business hours or designate a qualified alternate registered nurse in writing for periods of absence
Required qualifications
- Registered Nurse
- Medicare Home Health experience required
- Minimum 1 year experience in a Medicare Home Health Agency
- Willingness to sign offer letter and restrictive covenants
- Ability to oversee two office locations (Miami and Broward County)
- Availability for on-call rotation
Preferred qualifications
- Bilingual a plus
Compensation and benefits
- $100,000 base salary

- PTO/Vacation: 80 hours in first two years, 3 weeks in year 3
