Overview

A leading global manufacturer of sensor technologies, backed by a large multinational parent company, is seeking a Director / Manager of Development Engineering to lead its sensor engineering organization. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for guiding the development of advanced sensor products serving automotive, commercial vehicle, off road, industrial, and adjacent markets.

What you'll do

• Lead the development of sensor products for U.S. and global markets
• Oversee development of electronic-based products incorporating embedded microcontrollers, sensors, and firmware
• Manage multidisciplinary engineering teams spanning electrical, firmware, mechanical, and systems engineering disciplines
• Manage engineering groups across both U.S. and global locations
• Engage in business development activities related to sensors, including direct customer contact

Required qualifications

• Experience as a Director or Manager of Development Engineering within the sensors industry
• Background across diverse sensor applications such as automotive, commercial vehicle, off road, and industrial markets
• Proven experience managing engineering groups both domestically (U.S.) and globally
• Strong understanding of business development for sensor products and direct customer engagement
• Must be willing to relocate to Rockford, IL (Janesville, WI)

Compensation and benefits

• 30% bonus
