Location: Syracuse, NY | Schedule: Full-time, on-site with regular jobsite travel

Overview

An established commercial construction organization is seeking a Construction Project Manager to lead building projects from initial planning and development through groundbreaking and final completion. This is a senior-level position requiring close collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders while managing multiple project components at once.

What you'll do

• Commence and complete all assigned construction projects from concept through completion
• Develop and maintain working relationships with clients, consultants, and other project team agencies
• Plan and implement procurement of materials and services for each project
• Create accurate and thorough scopes of work for each subcontractor and vendor based on job requirements
• Draft contracts with vendors and suppliers
• Estimate, create, compile, and submit owner change orders and subcontractor change orders
• Manage and take responsibility for all project costs, including participating in project accounting updates, approvals, and processes
• Manage all project team members
• Create and update project reporting and communications for stakeholders
• Create and maintain project schedules
• Maintain project communication hierarchy and protocol among team members
• Conduct field reviews of projects in progress
• Perform quality control oversight
• Schedule and attend all job meetings
• Lead and participate in project closeout procedures
• Travel to jobsites 2-3 days per week for personnel and job management and progress review

Required qualifications

• Experience managing commercial building construction projects from planning through completion
• Ability to manage multiple moving project components simultaneously
• Ability to travel to project sites 2-3 days per week on a weekly basis
• Reports to President of Company, Operations Manager, or Senior Project Manager
