Automotive A/B Service Technician

Overview
An established automotive service shop is seeking an experienced A/B Automotive Service Technician to join its team. This role calls for a skilled technician who takes pride in quality workmanship, can accurately diagnose and repair vehicles, and is comfortable working independently in a busy automotive service environment.
What you'll do
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and drivability concerns
- Perform general automotive maintenance and repairs
- Complete brake, suspension, steering, and exhaust repairs
- Perform engine and cooling system diagnostics and repairs
- Diagnose check-engine lights and other vehicle warning systems
- Perform tune-ups, fluid services, and preventative maintenance
- Inspect vehicles and identify needed or recommended repairs
- Accurately communicate repair findings and recommendations
- Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Follow proper safety procedures and shop policies
Required qualifications
- Previous professional automotive repair experience required
- Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair a variety of vehicle makes and models
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Must be dependable, professional, and committed to providing quality service
- Must provide own tools and toolbox; specialty or shop equipment provided as applicable
Preferred qualifications
- A-Level or B-Level technician experience preferred
- ASE certifications are a plus but not required
Compensation and benefits
- Competitive pay based on experience and skill level
- Pay will vary based on experience, skill level, certifications, and overall technical ability
- Experienced A-Level technicians will be compensated accordingly
