Overview
Our client, a building systems services provider, is seeking an experienced Automation/Controls Technician/Installer to support Building Automation System (BAS) installations. This role involves mounting control components, installing low voltage wiring, performing terminations, conducting system start-ups, and troubleshooting systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with building automation systems, hold a CT E2 or L6 License, and demonstrate the ability to deliver high-quality installations and service.
What you'll do
- Mount and install control components, including sensors, thermostats, and controllers, as part of BAS installations
- Install conduit, low voltage wiring, and perform terminations in accordance with project specifications
- Conduct system start-ups, verifying proper functioning and calibration of all components
- Perform system testing and troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues
- Diagnose and repair issues with BAS components, wiring, and controls
- Respond promptly to service calls for troubleshooting and system repairs
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other technicians to ensure timely and accurate installations
- Communicate with clients and provide status updates on project progress
- Ensure installations comply with local codes and regulations, particularly electrical codes
- Follow all safety protocols during installations, testing, and troubleshooting
Required qualifications
- Must hold a valid CT E2 or L6 License
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in the installation and maintenance of Building Automation Systems (BAS)
- Experience with low voltage wiring, system start-up, and troubleshooting is essential
- Proficient in reading and interpreting wiring diagrams and system specifications
- Strong knowledge of building automation systems, HVAC controls, and electrical systems
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve system malfunctions effectively
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physically capable of handling installation tasks and working in various environments
Preferred qualifications
- Additional certifications in building automation or electrical systems are a plus
