Overview

A precision manufacturing organization operating in a highly regulated industry (such as aerospace or medical device production) is seeking an Assembly/Harnessing Technician to join its Manufacturing Assembly and Test team. This is a direct hire opportunity reporting to the Manufacturing Supervisor, offering a collaborative, on-site environment where precision and reliability are critical to building high-quality electromechanical assemblies.

What you'll do

• Assemble high reliability chassis and final assemblies using circuit cards, standoffs, wire harnesses, solder, and crimping with electrical and mechanical instruments
• Perform high reliability soldering and crimping operations on complex sub-assemblies, electronic and mechanical assemblies, and repair circuit boards, jumper wires, and wire harnesses
• Read and work from assembly drawings, worksheets, parts lists, test specifications, and both written and oral instructions
• Follow applicable Electro-Static Discharge (ESD) procedures
• Perform running harnessing and work with motion control pointing mechanisms as required
• Collaborate with Product Engineering to diagnose and propose necessary rework on intricate models
• Work closely with engineering to innovate testing procedures and suggest improvements to worksheet processes
• Clean components to required cleanliness levels and maintain traceability records, MDC forms, and configuration records on controlled programs
• Work on repair units alongside production units
• Travel to customer facilities as needed to service company hardware

Required qualifications

• J-STD Certification (required)
• 5+ years of electrical assembly experience
• 5+ years of soldering experience
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and schematics
• HS Diploma (or equivalent)
• Experience in a highly regulated manufacturing environment (e.g., Aerospace, Medical Devices/FDA)

Preferred qualifications

• Additional training from a technical/vocational school
• NASA Certification preferred
