Product Stewardship Specialist – Chemical Regulatory

Overview
A chemical industry manufacturer is seeking a Product Stewardship Specialist to safeguard regulatory compliance across its product lines. This role is central to managing compliance activities spanning FDA food contact rules, hazard communication (SDS/GHS), TSCA, and international chemical regulations, while also advising leadership on regulatory risk during mergers, acquisitions, and new market expansions.
What you'll do
- Interpret FDA food contact regulations and prepare documentation such as Food Contact Notifications (FCNs) for new and existing products
- Develop and maintain GHS-compliant Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and product label content
- Oversee TSCA compliance, including Pre-Manufacture Notices (PMNs), polymer exemption reports, and annual reporting
- Support preparation of New Substance Notifications (NSNs) and ensure compliance with REACH and other international chemical control regulations
- Provide guidance on product stewardship risks tied to mergers and business ventures
- Partner with Trade Compliance to support customs and transportation compliance
Required qualifications
- 7-9 years of experience in product stewardship or regulatory affairs within the chemical industry
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Toxicology, Pharmacology, or Chemical Engineering
- Proficiency in MS Office, GHS hazard classification, and SDS authoring
- Working knowledge of chemical control laws including TSCA, FDA, and REACH
- Fluency in English, both written and oral
- Ability to perform sedentary office work with occasional standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds
- Availability for up to 10% domestic and international travel
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with polymers, FDA food contact, and TSCA submissions highly preferred
- Advanced degree preferred
