Overview

A well-established and highly profitable regional CPA firm serving the San Jose area is looking to add a Tax Senior/Supervisor to its growing team. This is an opportunity to take on increasingly complex tax and accounting work while building toward a management track, with the flexibility of a hybrid schedule and strong earning potential.

What you'll do

• Carry out a range of accounting and tax assignments under the guidance of a supervisor, manager, or partner
• Apply strong technical skills and adhere to professional and Firm standards in all work produced
• Guide and oversee assistants and staff accountants, assigning work, reviewing output, and directing revisions as needed
• Prepare and organize working papers, performing procedures under generally accepted accounting principles to confirm the accuracy of client financial information
• Draft complex tax returns, including those related to dissolution or liquidation
• Bring forward tax planning ideas for clients to a supervisor, manager, or partner
• Prepare routine client correspondence for partner approval and signature, and draft commentary for management letters

Required qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of progressively complex experience in public accounting, with increasing tax knowledge
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, or a master's degree in accounting
• At least 40 hours of continuing professional education annually
• Current, valid CPA license, or actively working toward obtaining one by sitting for the applicable state CPA exam
• If licensed, must be a member in good standing with the AICPA
