Overview

A well-established and highly profitable regional CPA firm is seeking a Tax Senior/Supervisor to join its growing staff. This is an opportunity to take on increasingly complex tax and accounting work while enjoying a strong work-life balance and a clear path toward management.

What you'll do

• Perform diversified accounting and tax assignments under the direction of a supervisor, manager, or partner
• Demonstrate competency in technical skills, work quality, and application of professional and firm standards
• Direct and instruct assistants in work to be performed and review their working papers
• Prepare and index working papers, performing procedures under generally accepted accounting principles to verify the accuracy and validity of client financial matters
• Prepare complicated tax returns, including returns on dissolution or liquidation
• Suggest client tax planning ideas to supervisors, managers, or partners
• Prepare routine correspondence to clients for partner approval and signature, and write comments for management letters
• Supervise staff accountants and assistants, instructing them on assignments, reviewing their work, and directing necessary revisions

Required qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of experience in public accounting, demonstrating progression in complexity of accounting tasks and tax knowledge
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, or master's degree in accounting
• Minimum of 40 hours of continuing professional education required each year
• Current and valid CPA license, or actively working toward obtaining the license by taking and passing the applicable state CPA exam
• If licensed, must be a member in good standing with the AICPA
